What a check can and cannot tell you
- A match shows the record a code belongs to. It does not prove the item in your hand is genuine or safe, because codes can be copied.
- Always compare the item with the approved description and image in the result.
- A code that is not found is not automatically fake. It may not be enrolled in PIVERS.
